French woman divorces husband, demands compensation for lack of sex

september  6, 2011

Getting divorced is a humiliating experience for any man. But an extra large slice of Asylum pity pie should be sent to a French man who recently seperated from his one-time bride -- and promptly got sued for £8,500 in damages for failing to have enough sex with her.

Family policy in Ireland -August 25, 2011

An excellent letter from Nora Bennis was published in the Irish national newspapers on 18 August. Mrs. Bennis’ letter deserves to be read and studied carefully and, as well as bringing it to the attention of your local Council members and all your local public representatives, your clergy, and your friends, please do your best to disseminate it far and wide.

God Often Displays His Glory In Human Physical Defects - September 2, 2011

Sadly, children born with physical defects make some people uncomfortable. Even more heartbreaking is the reality that this discomfort often turns to disgust and drives people to abort/murder their innocent children on account of physical problems (See Mother Throws Disabled Child to His Death From Building and Response to Infant’s Murder Reveals Society’s Double Standard).

Husband must pay up for sexless marriage. Is that a win?  September 7 ,2011

It sounds like the opening line of a joke: French wife sues her ex-husband over his refusal to, uh, perform during their marriage. But the widely publicized lack-of-passion lawsuit raises the question: How much is marital sex worth?

C-section baby boom in China -

In a country where some 47,370 babies are born every day, 46.2 percent of expectant mothers in China choose to give birth with surgical help. What Makes Families Strong?  September 7,2011

In the past, most of the research on families focused on what was wrong with them, rather than what was right. Today, the research field is shifting and beginning to examine what, exactly, makes a family strong. Search Institute, along with organizations are breaking new ground in the research area of strong families.

Consolidation of Health Plans May Help Lower Hospital Costs Septemper 8, 2011

Increased consolidation among health plans nationally may benefit consumers by lowering hospital prices, at least in those regions where health plans are the most consolidated, according to a new RAND Corporation study.
Researchers found that hospital prices were about 12 percent lower in the metropolitan areas with the fewest health plans, lending support to the view that when health plans become bigger they can negotiation lower prices from health providers.

The “bushfire” threatening Australia: fragile families September 7 , 2011

Australia is known as the Lucky Country but a report on child welfare published this week suggests that its luck is running out. Like Britain and the USA, it has an increasing number of fragile families where children are at risk of abuse and neglect, thanks to marriage breakdown, single parenthood and cohabiting relationships which have a high risk of breaking up.

FAMIS Spotlight
block-spotlight.jpgChildren’s Rights International

We have recently changed our website. Those of you who are familiar with the old format will note that we have stripped it back to concentrate on current projects and initiatives. The reasons for this are pragmatic. We don’t have the resources of large agencies to maintain an up to date children’s rights service
